Different?
We’re traveling down these hallways, conscious of what others have to say; play this act, trying to display self as fact; when all we really want is acceptance. Yet, what is acceptance when through their eyes they’re blind to accepting? Self identity is built upon societal identity; slashing individuality, promoting normality. And originality is compared to standards of difference, while all those who are different end up being differently the same. We’re raised and lifted into a society of mass production, of a one-size-fits all conceptual framework. Ours cars, toys, careers, education, fashion, cuisine fit some predetermined standard, deeming right from incorrect. We’re either grouped into a person who is “in”, “out”, or “different”.
Wassup with this black and white concept of identity? We’re suffering to compare ourselves to those around us, yet we disregard happiness, comfort, sense.
Can’t we be different? No. Because once we all fight to be different, we’re all being the same; fighting to be different.
